List of Food | part 2

MEAT

Beef – meat of a cow, bull or ox.

Pork – meat of a pig.

Chicken – meat of a hen or rooster.

Lamb – meat of a sheep, usually young sheep.

Duck – meat of a duck the bird.

Turkey – meat of the turkey the bird.

Steak – a high quality beef cut into thick slices that are cooked by grilling or searing.

Bacon – thinly sliced meat pieces from the back of a pig cooked until crunchy.

Sausage – minced meat stuffed in elongated skin or intestine rolls.

SEAFOOD

Fish – an aquatic animal that has fins, gills and scales. Fish comes in many different breeds ranging from tiny to large.

Octopus – a mullusc, the limbs of which can be used as food.

Shrimp – a small aquatic animals with elongated body and five pairs of legs. Eaten without its shell.

Caviar – pickled eggs of a large fish, considered a delicacy and is an expensive food item.

Lobster – an aquatic animal the meat of which is considered a delicacy.

Oyster – a small shelled molluscs which produces pearl. Can be eaten raw or cooked.

DAIRY

Milk – a white fatty liquid produced by female mammals.

Cheese – a food item produced from pressed milk. Can be liquidy or hard and are usually yellow, brownish or white.

Butter – a yellow fatty substance made by churning cream produced from milk.

Sour cream – a cream which to which bacteria was added to make for the sour taste.

Yoghurt – a fermented milk product that is semi-solid and usually sweet.

Curd – a milk product that is soft and white, used for making cheese.

DRINKS

Juice – liquid sqeezed from fruits or vegetables.

Water – a liquid that is a base for all the other liquids. It is colourless and transparent, flavourless and does not have a smell.

Tea – a hot drink made by putting tea plant leaves, usually in dried from, in water.

Coffee – a hot drink made by using water and coffee beans.

Alcohol – a flamable liquid created through fermentation of sugars, has intoxicating qualities.

Soft drinks – otherwise known as carbonated drinks, sodas or pop are fizzy beverages that can be produced in any flavour.
